Sliced Banana Flower and Chive stir-fry

Sliced Banana Flower and Chive stir-fry is a delicious and healthy dish made by stir-frying sliced banana flower and chives with a mixture of spices and seasonings. The banana flower has a slightly tangy and bitter flavor that pairs well with the mild taste of chives. This dish is often served as a side dish or can be enjoyed as a main course with rice or noodles.

  • 1 banana flower (sliced thinly)
  • 2 cups fresh chives (chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (minced)
  • 1 red chili (sliced (optional))
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  1. Start by preparing the banana flower. Remove the outer layers and discard them. Slice the tender inner part of the banana flower thinly and soak in water with a little lemon juice to prevent browning.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add minced garlic, ginger, and red chili. Stir-fry for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the sliced banana flower to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until slightly tender.
  4. Add the chopped chives to the skillet and continue stir-frying for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Season the stir-fry with soy sauce, oyster sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine all the flavors.
  6. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are cooked but still slightly crunchy.
  7. Serve the Sliced Banana Flower and Chive stir-fry hot as a side dish or over steamed rice.
  8. Enjoy!
