  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a baking dish with some of the melted butter.
  • Spread half of the shredded phyllo dough in the bottom of the baking dish.
  • Place the sweet cheese evenly over the shredded phyllo dough.
  • Cover the cheese with the remaining shredded phyllo dough.
  • Drizzle the remaining melted butter over the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes or until golden brown.
  • In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water over medium heat until the sugar dissolves to make the syrup.
  • Once the Kanafeh is done, pour the sugar syrup over it while it’s still hot.
  • Garnish with crushed pistachios or other nuts.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
