Instructions

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the sliced onion and bell pepper to the skillet and cook until softened and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and then add the thinly sliced steak. Season with salt and pepper and cook until browned and cooked through, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Return the cooked onions and bell peppers to the skillet with the steak and mix everything together.
  • Divide the steak mixture into 4 portions in the skillet and top each portion with 2 slices of cheese. Let the cheese melt over the steak mixture.
  • While the cheese is melting, toast the hoagie rolls in the oven or on a separate skillet until lightly crispy.
  • Once the cheese has melted, use a spatula to scoop up each portion of the steak mixture with melted cheese and place it onto a hoagie roll.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!
