Ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken pieces (bone-in)
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1 tablespoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 large onions thinly sliced
- 2 tomatoes chopped
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt.
- Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and coat them well. Let it marinate for at least 2 hours (overnight for best results).
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat vegetable oil and add sliced onions. Cook until onions are golden brown.
- Add the marinated chicken and cook for a few minutes until the chicken is browned on all sides.
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Lower the heat, cover the pan with a tight-fitting lid or aluminum foil, and cook on low heat for about 30-40 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
