Chicken Marinara
Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts boneless, skinless
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion diced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the diced onions and garlic. Cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the marinara sauce, dried oregano, and dried basil to the skillet. Stir to combine.
- Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning some of the marinara sauce over the top.
- Cover the skillet and let the chicken simmer in the sauce for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Serve the Chicken Marinara over cooked pasta or with a side of vegetables.
- Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves before serving.
- Enjoy!
