Stuffed Chicken Prosciutto
Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts boneless, skinless
- 4 slices prosciutto
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Lay the chicken breasts flat on a cutting board. Using a sharp knife, cut a pocket into each chicken breast, being careful not to cut all the way through.
- Season the inside of each chicken breast with salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of oregano.
- Stuff each chicken breast with a slice of prosciutto, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and minced garlic.
- Secure the opening of each chicken breast with toothpicks to hold the filling in.
- Heat some olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the stuffed chicken breasts on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove the toothpicks before serving.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve hot.
- Enjoy!
