Filling Ingredients:
- 4 medium potatoes sliced into 1/4” slices
- 1-1/2 cups Half & half
- 1 tablespoon Ground nutmeg
- Kosher salt to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
Dough Ingredients:
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 3 tsps baking powder
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter cold and cut into small cubes
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup mozzarella shredded
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Lightly grease a 9” pie plate.
- Add sliced potatoes, half & half, nutmeg, salt and pepper, to taste. Combine well.
- Place pie dish in oven and bake for 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, prepare cobbler dough.
- In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt.
- Cut in the butter pieces with a pastry blender, 2 forks or with your hands until the mixture becomes crumbly.
- Add milk to the bowl and stir with a wooden spoon. Stir in one egg at a time.
- Once eggs are combined into mixture, mix in the mozzarella and parmesan cheeses.
- Remove potatoes from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
- Drop dough by spoonfuls onto the potatoes.
- Bake 20-25 minutes until the cobbler mixture is golden brown and potatoes and soft and cooked through.
