Ingredients
  

  • 4 lobster tails shell removed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. Cut a slit down the middle of each lobster tail, being careful not to cut all the way through. Gently spread the tails apart to expose the meat.
  3. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk together until smooth. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the mixture is light golden brown.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce has thickened.
  5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. Spoon the cheese sauce over the top of each lobster tail, spreading it out evenly.
  7. Sprinkle a tablespoon melted butter over the top of the cheese sauce.
  8. Place the lobster tails on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove the lobster tails from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious cheese baked lobster!
