Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb dried shredded cassava (Abacha)
  • 1 cup palm oil
  • 1 red onion finely chopped
  • 2 red bell peppers thinly sliced
  • 1 cup roasted ground peanuts
  • 1 tablespoon ground crayfish
  • 2 tablespoons ground dried pepper
  • 2 seasoning cubes
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh vegetables (such as ugu leaves or spinach) for garnish
Optional garnishes:
  • boiled eggs
  • fried fish
  • cooked cow skin (ponmo)

Method
 

  1. Rinse the dried shredded cassava (Abacha) with warm water and drain well.
  2. In a saucepan, heat the palm oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sliced bell peppers. Cook until softened.
  3. Add the ground peanuts, ground crayfish, ground dried pepper, seasoning cubes, and salt. Stir well to combine.
  4. Add the drained Abacha to the saucepan and mix everything together until well coated with the sauce. Cook for a few minutes to heat through.
  5. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh vegetables and any optional toppings you desire.
  6. Serve warm and enjoy!
