Dundun-Fried Yam is a popular Nigerian street food made by frying yam slices until they are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It is usually seasoned with spices and served as a delicious snack or side dish.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 large yam
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Method
 

  1. Peel the yam and cut it into thick slices or chunks.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the salt, paprika, and garlic powder.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot over medium-high heat.
  4. Toss the yam pieces in the spice mixture until they are evenly coated.
  5. Carefully place the yam pieces in the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
  6. Fry the yam pieces until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  7. Once cooked, remove the yam from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  8. Serve the Dundun-Fried Yam hot and enjoy as a tasty snack or side dish.
