Tips on using and buying spices –
Its hard to find these peppercorns in regular grocery stores and my local Asian store only has giant bags. Thys is the perfect size for home use. I add them to my hotpot broth, marinated egg liquid and homemade chili oil. Great flavor, nice and numbing.

Wow, that's all I can say. Just wow. I've never had Szechuan peppercorns before and boy, have I missed out. These sneaky little peppercorns are not only filled with flavor but also have a neat little surprise.
I toasted them first and was struck by the fact that the fragrance was very unexpected. A wonderful fruity, floral fragrance filled the air. After grinding them in my morter I tasted a tiny bit unsure of just how hot they might be. Hmm, they didn't seem hot at all and didn't taste like any peppercorn I'd ever tasted. Then, a few moments later my tongue began to tingle and get a little numb, but not from heat. I don't even know how to describe it. You just have to experience it. I only used a tablespoon in the recipe that called for 1/3 cup but I wished I'd used more it was that good. I will order a bigger bag next time. I love Spice Way. Always fresh, always prompt, always delicious.
