Not as crunchy as I would like. It’s a little on the chewy side. But if you don’t have an Asian store near you like me. This works just fine.

Great product, more than I expected. The texture and taste are as I recalled having before. I moved to an area without an Asian market near that carried daicon radish. For several years now I've looked around for them. Finally on a whim I thought to check Amazon and found these. I was not disappointed at all. Some reviews stated texture or color issues, but mine were exactly what I expected from my previous experience wot similar products years ago.

This is not yellow, BROWN radish made me sad… I was so excited to get this yellow pickled radish and make some rolls, but when I saw it I was surprised that it was dark not yellow… it's a very dark brown color and has a weird texture… very mushy. Normally fresh yellow radish is yellow and crunchy. This radish is of horrible quality. And I am not going to try it to taste, too scared. And it's not made in Japan, it is made in China.

Pickles are good but there are probably more than I can eat (4 pickled radishes!) before they spoil. And I can't freeze them. Flavor and texture were what I expected.
More practical for restaurant than a private home.

I recently took a cooking class in Seoul, South Korea and one of the items we made was kimbap, which is made up of rice, veggies, egg and pickled radish. When I got back home to the US, I wanted to make kimbap for my family, but I could only find pickled radish in slices and it just wasn't the same. Even when I layered several slices, the flavor was diluted overall, so I was thrilled to find that Shirakiku offers picked radish in full sized pieces. I also found the quality to be better than the brand I was buying. The price was more reasonable as well. I will definitely continue to purchase this product in the future.
