Really enjoyed this sauce. Used it to make a traditional spaghetti sauce using ground beef, added in some additional spices – garlic, salt, pepper, oregano. etc those usually found in itialian dishes. Sauce is good thickness, blends well with the meat, nice tomato/cheese flavor. Will purchase again.

I thought this would be just another sauce with a slightly different flavor. HOWEVER, this tastes SO creamy! It reminds me of vodka sauce, although it looks like tomato sauce. The sauce is nice & thick. I didn't really notice the garlic flavor. I had mine over cheese ravioli. There's no tangy flavor. This is a great alternative and will compliment any pasta, but especially one with cheese. If you're looking for a change from traditional tomato sauce and you like creamy sauces, you have to give this one a try. I will definitely be using this again!

This 24oz jar of Prego Creamy Tomato Pasta Sauce With Garlic came sealed and intact. Just an OK sauce for when time is not available. Different than the more red sauce and has the lighter creamy milky flavor with garlic. Added some extra spices to pour over fettuccine. Did not like the added sugar.

Prego Creamy Tomato Sauce –
I don’t really like most Marinara Sauces. The only ones I do like are Vodka Sauce or Vodka and Arabbiatta Sauce mixed together. The cream in Vodka Sauce cut the acidity of the tomatoes and I like the creaminess found in Vodka Sauce.
Normally I buy a more expensive name brand. I decided to try some more affordable options. When I came across this Prego Spucy Vodka sauce I knew it was one I had to try. I’m glad I did.
The reason. I don’t like traditional Marinar is because my husband made spaghettti at least twice and sometimes three times a week. I just got sick of it. Ironically enough J had never had Vodka Sauce until after his memorial service. My daughter works at a local Italian restraint and her boss was kind enough to prepare and send several trays of food for after the service. One of them was Penne Ala’ Vodka. I probably wouldn’t have tried it if not for the fact so many giuests were talking about how good it was. I tried it and found I had a sauce that allowed me to one again enjoy pasta. I’ve been making one type of pasta or anoyy to her about once a week since I first tried it. The reason I like it mixed with Arabbiatta Sauce is because I love spicy food.
Because my good budget has to stretch I was thrilled to find an inexpensive Vodka Sauce that was spicy and affordable. I just had to try it. I just used frozen beef meatballs, and Angel hair pasta. I did add a little seasoning to the Prego spicy vodka sauce, but for the most part, it wasn’t to different then before I added the seasoning.
My first couple bites I noticed that it had a distinct flavor that is Zin all the Prego Sauces I’ve tried over the years. At first I wasn’t sure I liked it. After all it had quite a different taste than the high dollar brand I had been using. I told myself to quit comparing it and to continue eating it. Once I made this decision and continued on it wasn’t more than a couple of bites before I concluded that I really liked this sauce. I had happily found an affordable option that I really liked.
I like everything about the T except the fact grocery stores in my area don’t carry Prego Spicy Vodka. I also wish it came in a bigger jar.
