Before getting into the review by Just Bill
Bill if you are using turmeric in food; use the brand you like.
If you are using turmeric for pain you naturally want the stronger tasting turmeric because it will have a higher level of Curcumin. Many turmeric brands only have 1-2% curcumin. The very best turmeric only has 3-3.5% curcumin. If you are buying turmeric locally always get the darkest color turmeric because curcumin gives the turmeric the yellow color
Now about here’s my review
I drink a turmeric ginger shot first thing in the morning. I do this because I have a 6 mm tumor on my pituitary, and have arthritis
I have tried several different brands and this is the best turmeric I have tried. Plus it’s grown organically in India.
Turmeric has lots of health benefits. reducing inflammation, aids the brain. and used in Ayurveda for millennia. Also according to Ayurveda golden honey is a natural antibiotic that doesn’t kill the good bacteria. If anyone wants to learn more about the Ayurveda natural form of healing check out the book Charaka Samhita.
ginger has some wonderful benefits too.
calms nausea, strengthen immune system, reduces cramps, pain relief, and increased circulation.
You can pay $2-4.50 a shot for a turmeric ginger shot or you can get good quality spices and make these shots for 25 cents or so. More importantly you know exactly what you are putting in your body
First I blend the powdered spices then I make the shots
Spice blend
6 tablespoons turmeric powder
1 1/2 tablespoons ginger powder
1-1 1/2 teaspoons white pepper or black pepper.
Stir well or shake.turmeric has wonderful benefits but is not very bioavailabile. To make the turmeric more bioavailabile you have to add Piperine (the spicy flavor in black pepper or white pepper. White pepper has more Piperine than black pepper; but white pepper is easier on the stomach
Making the shots
3/4-1 teaspoon spice blend
1 tsp honey
2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice fill bottle with water. Close lid tightly and shake until the honey blends into the shot.
Turmeric and ginger are good for dogs too. My sister has a 15 year old Chihuahua. He is fed a bit of turmeric ginger paste in the morning.
