- WHAT TO EXPECT: Pure palm oil may contain sediments in its purest form. Below its melting point (~35°C or 95°F), it may be semi-solid or hard due to its saturated fat content—especially in cool climates or after refrigeration. At typical room temperature (20–25°C), it’s often thick and buttery, not fully liquid. When warmed above 35°C, it melts into a clear, vibrant orange-red liquid.
