My Secret Spice BlendThis garam masala seasoning is so convenient and easy to use! I was initially hesitant to order this because of the product labeling/design- it didn't appear the most authentic. However, after looking at various garam masala seasoning recipes, I concurred that this was accurate to what is typically being made. I'd rather pay for the convenience of this jar than to compile all of the various seasonings that I do not have on hand at home and in the correct ratio.

This Organic Garam Masala Smells Amazing –
This has become my secret spice blend. I'm so glad I discovered it. I often cook for a group of people with widely varied taste buds. Garam Masala adds a subtle but definite savory flavor without being too spicy or hot. I use sparingly, maybe a teaspoon or two and grind it up with a the same amount of salt before adding it to very large (6-8? qt.) pans of sauteed veggies. It blends well with onion and garlic. It doesn't really add anything to mushrooms in my opinion but would be very good in the stuffing if you were stuffing them. For that reason I leave the mushrooms out of my veggie medleys because I think that their flavor would just get lost. All the other available veggies and greens are enhanced by this spice blend as long as it isn't overdone. I have overdone it; but adding a quart of Greek yogurt which luckily I had, turned it into a great Veggie Stroganoff.
And, oh yes, the spices are very fresh. But because it is mostly a fine grind it will age fast, I get a new bottle through 'subscribe and save' every 6 mos. or so and don't wait til I get down to the very bottom of the bottle. It is also tasty on popcorn so it is not hard to use it up in that time. It would also add interest to almost any sauce including tomato sauces and chilies.
