Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or lamb
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 package round dumpling wrappers
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix together the ground meat, chopped onion, garlic, coriander, cumin, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Place a small amount of the meat mixture in the center of a dumpling wrapper and fold the edges over to create a dumpling shape. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

  4. In a small saucepan, heat the olive oil and sauté the remaining garlic until fragrant. Add the yogurt and stir until heated through.
  5. To serve, place the steamed Mantoo on a serving dish and drizzle the yogurt sauce over the top. Garnish with fresh cilantro.
