Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound chicken breast or thighs, boneless, skinless cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 1 bell pepper sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons black peppercorns crushed
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 green onions sliced (for garnish)

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, marinate the chicken pieces in 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce, and cornstarch for about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and stir-fry until cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed and sauté the onion, bell pepper, and garlic until fragrant and slightly softened.
  4. Add the crushed black peppercorns, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce, and sugar to the pan. Stir well to combine.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Add the cooked chicken back to the pan and stir to coat the chicken with the sauce.
  6. Let the dish simmer for a few more minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Serve the Black Pepper Chicken hot, garnished with sliced green onions.
  8. Enjoy!
