Ravioli alla ricotta is a traditional Italian dish made with ravioli pasta filled with a creamy and delicious ricotta cheese mixture. The ravioli are usually served with a flavorful sauce, such as a tomato or butter sage sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound fresh ravioli pasta
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Method
 

  1. Cook the ravioli according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and chopped basil. Mix well.
  3. Take each cooked ravioli and place a spoonful of the ricotta mixture in the center. Fold over and seal the edges to form a ravioli.
  4. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the cherry tomatoes and cook for a few minutes until softened.
  5. Add the filled ravioli to the skillet and cook for a few more minutes until heated through.
  6. Serve the Ravioli alla ricotta topped with additional grated Parmesan cheese and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
  7. Enjoy!
