Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb beef (sirloin or flank steak), thinly sliced
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 1 bell pepper sliced
  • 1 cup bamboo shoots sliced (optional)
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for cooking
  • Steamed rice for serving

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, mix the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Heat some oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the minced garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds.
  3. Add the marinated beef slices and stir-fry until they are cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the onion, bell pepper, and bamboo shoots to the wok. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.
  5. Pour in the beef broth and season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for another minute until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Serve the Ngau Pak Yip hot over steamed rice.
  7. Enjoy!
