Kheema is a flavorful and aromatic South Asian dish made with minced or ground meat (usually lamb or beef) cooked with a variety of spices, herbs, and vegetables. It’s a popular dish that can be enjoyed with rice, bread, or even wrapped in a roti or naan.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g minced meat (lamb or beef)
  • 1 large onion finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 2 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin powder
  • 1 tablespoon coriander powder
  • 1 tablespoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Method
 

  1. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions until translucent.
  2. Add the ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the minced meat and cook until it’s browned, breaking up any lumps.
  4. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften.
  5. Stir in the turmeric, cumin, coriander, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  6. Cover and simmer for about 20-25 minutes until the meat is cooked through and the flavors are well blended.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  8. Serve hot with rice or bread of your choice.
  9. Enjoy!
