Salud bean dip
Ingredients
- 15 oz black beans canned drained and rinsed
- 1/2 small onion chopped
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 lime juice
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro chopped
Optional toppings:
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the drained black beans to the skillet, along with the ground cumin and chili powder. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Transfer the bean mixture to a food processor or blender. Add the lime juice, chopped cilantro, salt, and pepper. Blend until smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a bit of water to thin it out.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Transfer the bean dip to a serving bowl and top with your favorite toppings, such as diced tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, or shredded cheese.
- Serve the Salud bean dip with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables for dipping.
- Enjoy!
