Nut-crusted Mahi-Mahi
Nut-crusted Mahi-Mahi is a delicious dish made with mahi-mahi fillets coated in a mixture of crushed nuts like almonds or macadamia nuts, along with herbs and spices. The fish is then baked or pan-seared to create a crispy and flavorful crust. It’s a seafood dish that combines the natural sweetness of the fish with the nuttiness of the crust for a delightful flavor and texture combination.
- 4 Mahi-Mahi fillets ((about 6 oz each))
- 1 cup mixed nuts ((such as almonds, macadamia nuts, or pecans))
- 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a food processor, pulse the mixed nuts until coarsely ground. Be careful not to over-process, as you want a coarse texture.
- Transfer the crushed nuts to a shallow dish and mix in the panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Season the Mahi-Mahi fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Brush each fillet with a bit of olive oil, then press the fillets into the nut mixture, coating them evenly on both sides.
- Place the coated fillets on the prepared baking sheet and drizzle with a little more olive oil.
- Bake the Mahi-Mahi in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and the nut crust is golden brown and crispy.
- Serve the Nut-crusted Mahi-Mahi hot with lemon wedges on the side.
- Enjoy!
