Nut-crusted Mahi-Mahi

Nut-crusted Mahi-Mahi

Nut-crusted Mahi-Mahi is a delicious dish made with mahi-mahi fillets coated in a mixture of crushed nuts like almonds or macadamia nuts, along with herbs and spices. The fish is then baked or pan-seared to create a crispy and flavorful crust. It’s a seafood dish that combines the natural sweetness of the fish with the nuttiness of the crust for a delightful flavor and texture combination.

  • 4 Mahi-Mahi fillets ((about 6 oz each))
  • 1 cup mixed nuts ((such as almonds, macadamia nuts, or pecans))
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a food processor, pulse the mixed nuts until coarsely ground. Be careful not to over-process, as you want a coarse texture.
  3. Transfer the crushed nuts to a shallow dish and mix in the panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Season the Mahi-Mahi fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.
  5. Brush each fillet with a bit of olive oil, then press the fillets into the nut mixture, coating them evenly on both sides.
  6. Place the coated fillets on the prepared baking sheet and drizzle with a little more olive oil.
  7. Bake the Mahi-Mahi in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and the nut crust is golden brown and crispy.
  8. Serve the Nut-crusted Mahi-Mahi hot with lemon wedges on the side.
  9. Enjoy!
