Sweet potato fried balls are a delicious snack or side dish made by mixing mashed sweet potatoes with seasonings, forming them into balls, and then frying them until crispy on the outside. They are a popular and tasty way to enjoy sweet potatoes in a different form!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 large sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Method
 

  1. Peel and cube the sweet potatoes, then boil them until they are soft. Drain and mash the sweet potatoes in a bowl.
  2. Add the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to the mashed sweet potatoes. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.
  4. Roll each ball in flour, then dip in the beaten eggs, and finally coat in breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  6. Fry the sweet potato balls in batches until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Remove the fried balls from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  8. Serve the sweet potato fried balls hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
  9. Enjoy!
