Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup ground almonds
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground anise
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, ground almonds, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and anise.
  3. Add the melted butter and milk to the dry ingredients, and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a log about 1 inch thick.
  5. Place the logs on the prepared baking sheet, and sprinkle sesame seeds over the top, pressing them gently into the dough.
  6. Bake the Fekkas in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the Fekkas cool slightly before slicing them into diagonal pieces.
  8. Serve and enjoy your homemade Fekkas cookies with a cup of tea or coffee!
