Australian Salmon Fish Balls

No ratings yet
Australian Salmon Fish Balls are a delicious seafood dish made from fresh Australian salmon. The fish is finely minced and blended with a variety of flavorful ingredients such as herbs, spices, and breadcrumbs. The mixture is then formed into small balls and either baked, fried, or steamed until they are golden and crispy on the outside, while still moist and tender on the inside. These fish balls are perfect as an appetizer, snack, or as part of a main meal. They can be enjoyed on their own, dipped in sauces, or even added to soups or pasta dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Australian salmon fillets fresh, skin and bones removed
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup fresh herbs finely chopped (such as parsley and dill)
  • 1/4 cup onions finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)
All

Method

  1. In a food processor, add the salmon fillets and pulse until finely minced.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the minced salmon, breadcrumbs, chopped herbs, onions, garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into small balls, about 1-2 inches in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the fish balls in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
  5. Cook the fish balls for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. If you prefer a healthier option, you can also bake the fish balls in a preheated oven at 375°F for 15-20 minutes, or until they are cooked through.
  6. Once cooked, remove the fish balls from the pan and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil.
  7. Serve the Australian Salmon Fish Balls hot as an appetizer or with your favorite dipping sauce. They also work great as a main dish when served with rice or a salad.
