Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated cheese, raisins, carrots, bell peppers, pickle relish, minced garlic, minced onion, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, beaten eggs, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all the ingredients thoroughly.
  • Prepare a clean, rectangular-shaped aluminum foil. Place a portion of the ground pork mixture onto the foil and flatten it using your hands.
  • Arrange the sliced sausages and hard-boiled eggs lengthwise in the center of the ground pork mixture.
  • Roll the foil tightly to form a log shape, making sure that the sausages and eggs are secured in the middle. Twist the ends of the foil to seal the embutido log.
  • Steam the embutido for about 45 minutes to an hour, or until the pork is fully cooked. Let it cool for a few minutes before unwrapping.
  • Once cooled, heat some cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Carefully remove the foil from the embutido and slice it into thick rounds.
  • Fry the embutido slices until golden brown on each side. Remove from the pan and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  • Serve with rice, or as an appetizer or main dish.
