Potato Rosti is a Swiss dish made with grated potatoes that are fried until crispy and golden brown.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 medium potatoes peeled and grated
  • 1 small onion peeled and grated
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Method
 

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the grated potatoes and onion. Add the flour, beaten egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, spoon the potato mixture into the pan, forming small patties.
  3. Cook the potato rosti for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  4. Remove the rosti from the pan and place them onto a paper towel to absorb any excess oil.
  5. Serve the potato rosti hot with your favorite toppings like sour cream, cheese, or smoked salmon. Enjoy!
