Slow Cooker Pulled Pork is a delicious dish made by cooking pork shoulder or pork butt in a slow cooker for several hours until it becomes tender and easily shreds. The pork is typically seasoned with a mix of spices and sauces to add flavor. Once cooked, the pork is shredded using two forks and can be served on sandwiches, tacos, salads, or any way you like!

Ingredients
  

  • 3-4 lbs pork shoulder or pork butt
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Season the pork shoulder with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Place the chopped onion and minced garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Place the seasoned pork on top of the onions and garlic.
  4. In a bowl, mix together the chicken broth, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, and pour over the pork.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours, until the pork is tender and easily shreds.
  6. Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred using two forks.
  7. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix with the cooking juices.
  8. Serve the pulled pork on buns, over rice, in tacos, or any way you prefer. Enjoy!
