Ingredients
- 1 lb fish whole, (such as sea bass, barramundi or snapper), cleaned and scaled
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1- inch piece ginger julienned
- 2-3 stalks scallions cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Place the whole fish on a heatproof dish that fits inside your steamer basket.
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and water. Pour this mixture over the fish, making sure it is evenly coated.
- Scatter the minced garlic, ginger, and scallions on top of the fish.
- Fill a wok or large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Place the dish with the fish into the steamer basket and place it over the boiling water. Cover and steam for about 10-12 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.
- In a small saucepan, heat the vegetable oil until hot. Carefully pour the hot oil over the fish to release the aromas of the garlic, ginger, and scallions.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with steamed rice.
- Enjoy!
