Spaghetti and meatballs is a classic Italian-American dish consisting of spaghetti pasta topped with meatballs and a tomato-based sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper r to taste
  • 24 oz. jar marinara sauce
  • 12 oz. spaghetti pasta
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1-inch in diameter.
  3. In a large skillet, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, until the meatballs are cooked through.
  5. While the meatballs are cooking, cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  6. Serve the meatballs and sauce over the cooked spaghetti. Garnish with fresh basil leaves.
  7. Enjoy!
