Jambon-Beurre is a classic French sandwich that consists of a fresh baguette filled with ham (jambon) and butter (beurre).

Ingredients
  

  • 2 French baguettes fresh
  • 4 oz. unsalted butter
  • 4 oz. jambon ham
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh lettuce optional

Method
 

  1. Cut the baguettes into two halves and then slice them lengthwise.
  2. Spread a generous amount of unsalted butter on the inside of the bread. Add salt and pepper.
  3. Layer the jambon on top of the buttered bread.
  4. Add a few leaves of lettuce (if using).
  5. Place the other half of the bread on top of the jambon and press down lightly.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!
