In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until well combined.
Add in the milk and vanilla extract, and continue to mix.
Sift in the flour and baking powder, stirring until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
Place paper cupcake liners or parchment paper squares into a steamer tray or muffin tin.
Pour the batter into each paper cup, filling them about 3/4 full.
Steam the cakes over high heat for about 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Once cooked, remove the cakes from the steamer and let them cool slightly before serving.
