Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until well combined.
If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to the batter for a more vibrant look.
Grease small ramekins or muffin tins and fill them with the batter about 2/3 full.
Steam the cakes over high heat for about 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
