Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb ground duck meat
  • 1 cup cabbage finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger grated
  • 2 green onions finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1/4 tablespoon black pepper
  • 30-40 gyoza wrappers
  • Water for sealing
All

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground duck meat, cabbage, garlic, ginger, green onions, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
  2. To assemble the gyoza, place a small spoonful of the duck mixture in the center of a gyoza wrapper. Dip your finger in water and run it along the edge of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper in half over the filling and pleat the edges to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add a small amount of oil to the pan. Once the pan is hot, place the gyoza in the skillet, flat side down. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the bottoms are golden brown.
  4. Carefully add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and cover with a lid. Steam the gyoza for another 5-6 minutes or until the wrappers are cooked and the filling is cooked through.
  5. Serve the duck gyoza hot with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!
