Chocolate mousse is a delicious and decadent dessert made from whipped cream or egg whites mixed with melted chocolate and sometimes sugar and other flavorings.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch salt

  • whipped cream
  • chocolate shavings
  • berries

Method
 

  1. Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler) and stir until melted. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  2. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form.
  3. Gently fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream until well combined.
  4. Divide the mousse mixture into 4 serving glasses or bowls.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours, or until set.
  6. Before serving, you can top the mousse with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or fresh berries.
  7. Enjoy!
