In a bowl, combine minced garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice wine, sesame oil, sugar, and white pepper. Mix well to make the marinade.
Add the prawns to the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Let the prawns marinate for about 15-20 minutes.
Prepare a steamer and bring the water to a boil.
Arrange the marinated prawns in a heatproof dish and place it in the steamer basket.
Steam the prawns for about 6-8 minutes or until they are cooked through.
Once done, remove the dish from the steamer and garnish with chopped green onions.
Serve the Chinese Steamed Garlic Prawns hot with steamed white rice.
