Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon oil (optional)
  • Pinch salt (optional)

Method
 

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, salt, and oil (if using).
  2. Slowly add water to the flour mixture and knead until a soft dough forms. Add more water or flour as needed to get the right consistency.
  3. Divide the dough into 8 equal-sized balls.
  4. Roll out each dough ball into a thin, round disc using a rolling pin and a little flour to prevent sticking.
  5. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  6. Place a rolled-out chapati on the hot skillet and cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until small bubbles form.
  7. Brush each side of the chapati with a little oil or ghee while cooking for added flavor (optional).
  8. Repeat the process with the remaining dough balls.
  9. Serve the chapatis warm with your favorite curry or side dish.
  10. Enjoy!
