Boiling green bananas is a simple cooking method where you cook unripe bananas in boiling water until they are tender. It's a common way to prepare green bananas for eating.
Fill a pot with enough water to cover the bananas and bring to a boil. While water is being boiled prepare bananas.
There are two methods to prepare bananas.
Method 1:
Easier method is to thoroughly wash each banana and cut tips off both ends. Next, slice into skin on convex (curve) side running from one end to the other with depth of 1cm. Next wash again and add to pot. This method cooks banana with skin which is removed when ready to eat.
Method 2:
Second method similar to first. After slicing skin from one end to the other, the skin is peeled away using both thumbs to get under skin.
Cook:
Boil bananas for about 15 to 20 minutes or until just soft when tested with a fork.
Serve with dishes like Ackee, Brown Stew Chicken or Curry Mutton
