  • Bottle coconut juice is widely available in the supermarket. However, if you are desirous of fresh coconut the fruit can be opened by several techniques. Be careful not to injury yourself in opening a fresh green coconut. Choose a green coconut soft enough for cutting.
  • One technique is to cut the top of coconut off with a sharp firm knife then carve a hole through the top to the fruit. This technique will work for young coconut. Older coconuts would have to be cut using a machete which is a learned skill.
  • Drink with a straw. Serve best chill. The flesh can be removed using a spoon
