(U.S. user) I use this all the time for assorted recipes and as a topper for hot dogs & hamburgers. Just put the amount needed in a small micro-mesh strainer and run hot water through it, or sprinkle your needed amount into a small dish with water to allow the dry onion to re-hydrate. This is much easier than selecting an onion, peeling it, fine dicing only what I need, then storing that remaining piece in the refrigerator, only to waste/throwing it away when not used in time.
