Black Forest Cheesecake
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs (you can use chocolate sandwich cookies or chocolate graham crackers)
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 24 oz cream cheese softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips melted
- 1 can cherry pie filling
- Whipped cream for topping, optional
- Chocolate melted for topping, optional
- Fresh cherries for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
- In a bowl, mix the chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter until well combined. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract, sour cream, flour, and cocoa powder.
- Fold in the melted chocolate until fully incorporated.
- Pour the cheesecake batter over the crust in the springform pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for about 50-60 minutes or until the center is almost set. Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool inside for 1 hour with the oven door slightly ajar.
- Remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it cool completely. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Before serving, top the cheesecake with cherry pie filling, dollops of whipped cream, chocolate dribble and fresh cherries for garnish.
- Slice and enjoy!
