Steak frites
Ingredients
Method
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin strips to make fries. Soak them in cold water for about 30 minutes to remove excess starch, then pat them dry with paper towels.
- Toss the potatoes with olive oil, salt, and pepper, then spread them out on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for about 30-40 minutes or until crispy and golden brown.
- While the fries are baking, season the steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add a little olive oil and sear the steaks to your desired doneness (about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, depending on the thickness of the steaks).
- Once the steaks are cooked to your liking, remove them from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Serve the steak frites by placing a steak on each plate alongside a generous helping of crispy fries. Add a pat of butter on top of each steak and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley for garnish.
- Enjoy!
