Focaccia bread
Ingredients
Method
- In a small bowl, combine the active dry yeast with warm water. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours until it doubles in size.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Punch down the risen dough and transfer it to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Press the dough into a rectangle or circle shape.
- Use your fingertips to create dimples in the dough. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with your chosen toppings.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the focaccia is golden brown.
- Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
- Enjoy!
