Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
Toppings of your choice:
  • rosemary
  • olives
  • cherry tomatoes
  • sea salt

Method
 

  1. In a small bowl, combine the active dry yeast with warm water. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours until it doubles in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Punch down the risen dough and transfer it to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Press the dough into a rectangle or circle shape.
  7. Use your fingertips to create dimples in the dough. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with your chosen toppings.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the focaccia is golden brown.
  9. Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
  10. Enjoy!
