Bibimbap is a delicious and colorful Korean dish made with warm rice topped with an assortment of seasoned vegetables, meat (usually beef), a fried egg, and spicy gochujang sauce. It’s a popular and flavorful meal that you mix together before eating to enjoy all the different flavors and textures.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups cooked white rice
  • 1 lb beef (sirloin or ribeye), thinly sliced
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 cups mixed vegetables (such as spinach, carrots, bean sprouts, zucchini, and mushrooms)
  • 4 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 4 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoon gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
  • Toasted sesame seeds for garnish
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Marinate the beef slices in a mixture of 2 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Set aside for about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Cook each vegetable separately by blanching or sautéing them until they are cooked but still slightly crunchy. Season each vegetable with a bit of sesame oil and soy sauce. Set aside.
  3. In a hot skillet, cook the marinated beef slices until cooked through. Set aside.
  4. Fry the eggs sunny-side up or to your desired doneness.
  5. To assemble, divide the cooked rice among 4 bowls. Arrange the cooked vegetables, beef, and fried egg on top of the rice in a colorful pattern.
  6. Serve immediately with a dollop of gochujang on top and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
  7. Mix everything together before eating to enjoy all the flavors combined.
  8. Enjoy!
