“Koba” is a traditional Malagasy dish from Madagascar made with ground peanuts, coconut, and sometimes honey. It is often served as a snack or dessert. The mixture is pressed into a block or ball shape and is enjoyed for its sweet and rich flavor.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup ground peanuts
  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • Banana leaves or parchment paper for wrapping

Method
 

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground peanuts, grated coconut, and honey. Mix well until the ingredients are fully incorporated.
  2. Take a small amount of the mixture and shape it into a ball or block. Repeat until all the mixture is used up, making 4 portions.
  3. Place each portion of the mixture onto a piece of banana leaf or parchment paper. Wrap and shape them into neat packages.
  4. Refrigerate the wrapped Kobas for at least 1-2 hours to firm up.
  5. Unwrap and serve the Kobas as a delicious snack or dessert. Enjoy the sweet and nutty flavors of this traditional Malagasy treat!
