Instructions

  • In a skillet, cook the ground meat, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the meat is browned and the onion is soft. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add the cumin, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and pepper to the meat mixture. Stir well to combine. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  • Stir in the chopped parsley into the meat mixture.
  • Preheat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  • Lay out one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush it lightly with melted butter. Place another sheet of phyllo dough on top and brush with butter again. Repeat with a third sheet.
  • Cut the layered phyllo dough into 3 equal strips.
  • Place a spoonful of the meat filling at the bottom of each strip. Fold the bottom corner of the strip over the filling to form a triangle, then continue folding the triangle up the strip until you reach the end.
  • Brush the completed Briwat with more melted butter to seal the edges.
  • Fry the Briwats in the hot oil until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Remove the Briwats from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!
