Ingredients
  

  • 4 chicken breasts boneless skinless (about 1.5 pounds)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying

  • Mashed potatoes
  • Cream gravy
  • Corn fritters
  • Sliced oranges optional

Method
 

  1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. In another bowl, beat the eggs until well combined.
  3. Place the breadcrumbs in a separate bowl.
  4. Coat each chicken breast in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  5. Dip the coated chicken breasts into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off.
  6. Press the chicken breasts into the breadcrumbs, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  7. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to about 350°F (175°C).
  8. Carefully place the breaded chicken breasts into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes per side.
  9. Remove the fried chicken breasts and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  10. Serve the Chicken Maryland with a side of mashed potatoes, cream gravy, corn fritters, and sliced oranges if desired.
