Ingredients

  • 4-5 medium-sized pears
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup honey
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4-5 whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (optional)
  • 1 pinch salt

Method

  2. In a large pot, add water, honey, cinnamon sticks, cloves, ginger (if using), and a pinch of salt. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. Once the syrup is boiling, reduce the heat to low and carefully add the pear quarters.

  5. Once the pears are cooked, remove them from the syrup and allow them to cool slightly.
  6. Serve the baesuk warm or chilled, topped with some of the syrup and optional toppings like sliced almonds, raisins, or pine nuts.
