Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup dates chopped
  • 1 cup walnuts chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large leggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the flour mixture, mixing just until combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chopped dates and walnuts until they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  8. Bake for about 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer the bread to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
